Hello and welcome to the Talking Cards podcast with Grant Salani and the Juice. I am just solo today. It is just me, the Juice, here because I wanted to make sure I got on to be able to talk about Topps Chrome Football. Tops Chrome Football is back. It will be releasing today for you. Well, there will be a pre-order today. Um, it's been over a decade without Topps Chrome Football, and it is licensed back with tops, and they are starting out with a bang. It's Topps Chrome product really lends itself nicely to it. The look of it is that of the other 2025 Topps Chrome products, and it's a clean look, holds up well, makes a good transition of football. So, as far as what the pre-order today is for Hobby and Jumbo, it is going to be EQL. Hobby will set you back$349, and that is one auto. Jumbo$649, that is two autos. On the retail side of things, we have mega boxes at$69.99, value boxes$39.99, and hanger boxes at$19.99. So when it is time to pre-order, you're gonna have that hour window to do EQL. So if you are looking to get retail, make sure you take care of that first. I don't think it's gonna be for retail. It's never too crazy difficult to be able to get it unless you're getting it by the case. And I do think that if this retails anything like we saw for Topps Chrome basketball, it kind of ended being the buy anyway. A case of hangers might be the best value for your buck. So you might really want to consider that. You have up until a week before the product comes out. Unfortunately, although we did get a checklist, there are no odds as of the recording of this. So we can't know for certain what the best buy is going to be. But I really think a hanger might be the route to go, especially with a pre-order when so many of those signals, you can be able to get up on eBay right away and get that first mover advantage. Really be able to take advantage of those high prices that people are willing to pay to just get the first ones off the market. So just something to be aware of. Remember, retail first, and then you'll have plenty of time to do the EQL. You have that full hour. The big chase in these are going to be the rookie premiere autos. So these are like the MLB debut paddle, these are like the patches that we find in tops update Chrome. These are one-on-one taking off of rookie's first games. So that is going to be right up with the Super Fractor to be the rookie card to have for these guys. Also, they are doing the gold shield autos for NFL Award winners. So we have five different guys for this. We have Josh Allen, the MVP, Saquon Barkley, mental player rookie of the year, Pat 13, defense player of the year, Garrett Verse, Defensive Rookie of the Year, and Jaden Daniels, Offensive Rookie of the Year. So those are going to be some really nice pieces to be able to get hold of. Those are the 2024 award winners. And then as far as the inserts go, so I was able to look at the checklist. This isn't going to be a full deep dive into the checklist. We'll do that more close to release, but this is just to hopefully have you semi-prepared for the pre-order that is coming today. The first thing I noticed is lightboard logos are in this, which I love. Those are probably retail only, though. So again, we're not going to know until we get more information and get the odds. There are image variations, there are image variations for the rookies and vets. And then let's just talk about the SSP inserts. The ones that are back are Helix. Those are okay. Ultraviolet, radiating rookies. I like the look of those too. Lightning leaders for baseball, they did not really resell all that well. Let's go. Yeah, that that one is okay. Fanatical, I really like. And then they introduce a couple of new ones. They have the kaiju insert, which they have not released a picture for, but I'm excited to see what that's going to look like. I think the concept of that could be really cool. Game genies, from what I've seen on this, I do wish it was more cartoony. I know a lot of people don't like that, but I really like the cartoony look compared to the realistic look. Kind of like how downtowns are cartoony with Panini compared to Home Field Advantage. It's more have a has a more realistic look. I like both of them, but I prefer the downtown. I prefer the cartoony look. And I think for the game genies, I think that's something that really could have, yeah, maybe what we'll see in the future, maybe this will be a one and done. I'm surprised that I did not see home field advantage for this product. I think that would have really lent itself to football well, but maybe in a future product. One thing Topps did not mention, but if you look in the box, the pictures they release of those, you can see that it mentions Tecmo inserts. So it's going to be a really interesting concept. That actually might be a big chase. A lot of people love that Tecmo stuff. Yeah, let's see what they do with that. Hopefully it's something really cool. All right, next up, let's talk about the autos. Of course, we have the top chrome autos. These are rookies, vets, and legends. We're going to hit mostly rookies out of this, like we do with any Topps Chrome product. It's going to be hard to hit those vets. Those legends are going to be really tough to hit. I'm expecting a lot of rookies and second year guys out of this. And the second year guys could be an insert. The second year guys could be an interesting chase because with this being most likely, a lot of people will see it similar to a rookie auto, but not quite, because their autos from the year before were unlicensed. So this could be their first licensed autos for a lot of these guys. So I'm interested to see how the market will react to that. I really don't know either way, but definitely something to keep an eye on. And if you get a second-year auto non-rookie guy, but it's still a decent player, definitely something that could be a better hit than he might expect. Brady will have autos in this. Tom Brady will have autos in this. Just like with baseball, how we look, hey, does Otani have autos in this? I think Brady is the guy that you look for on football. Do I have a chance to hit the GOAT? I hate calling him that, but I have to. I just I have to. He earned it, unfortunately. And the big rookies that you're looking to hit out of this are quarterbacks, Jackson Dart, Cam Ward, Doris Sanders, even. I'm not too into football cards that much. I do collect them here and there. But so if you're new to football cards, you know, everything goes to the quarterback. Those are the guys you want to hit. Everything else, it's like quarterbacks are hitters and everyone else is a pitcher. That's pretty much how it goes. Unless they're like a generational talent, the quarterbacks are always going to outsell them. That's what you're going to be seeing out of football. If this is new to you, if you're just a tops guy that's excited to have this finally, you are looking for quarterbacks, which really limits the guys that you're looking for in the checklist, unfortunately, especially because football has such huge rosters and so many guys. But that's just the nature of collecting in football. The auto checklist is pretty huge for the rookies. But besides that, you do have dual autos. Chromographs are coming out in this, which is nice. I do like chromographs. I'm interested to see if those are going to be sticker autos or not. I hope not, but that remains to be seen. Chrome Legends autos, Hall of Chrome autos, just what they sound like. We have rookie auto variations. Again, I'm interested to see if they do stickers because I know sometimes with these they do. And there's also relics and rookie patch autos. In Chrome products, I'm not really a big fan of relics. We'll see how they do here. I'll reserve judgment until we have some more information that you can see what they look like. But they're gonna be very rare and they're not gonna be a significant chase, I don't think, anyway. Something else that Tufts did not officially announce, but they put on the box, is it mentions MVP buybacks. So save those Stafford cards. If you see them listed cheap in a break, jump on that. But also be weary because Tufts has made a habit of changing what their preview box images show. So sometimes just because it says it on a preview image, that they've just had uh a few snappos now where you just can't trust it the other day. MVP buyback is a pretty significant thing, but we'll see. You know, I'm just thinking the blue, the blue X Fractor from basketball, stadium club chrome not being there, even though those were on the boxes in the preview images. So again, just be weary going to this. Ultimately, what I'm going to really recommend is to go retail first if you can, since those are not EQL. These do have a chance to sell out, of course, but it's a retail, so it shouldn't. This stuff will be printed like crazy. So if you do miss out, don't worry. This is just a pre-order. So hopefully you can hit in the regular release. I am surprised that they're doing it as EQL. I'm interested to see if they'll do EQL for the main release as well, because this is a flagship product and they print so much of it. Just to do EQL seems a little odd. Usually that's saved for at least a more short printed product than this. But if this ends up being anywhere close to Bass Wall Chrome, that this is a must-buy. Yeah, you really don't want to miss out on these cards on this opportunity. So that's about it. That's all I wanted to talk about. Just a quick little mini episode on Topps Chronicle Football and what you can expect if you haven't had time because Tops pretty much blitzed. They pretty much blitzed us with this. No, no football pot intended. They just put out all this information and said, go get them tomorrow, figure it out, give us your money for a month, and then uh maybe we'll ship these out to you in time. But uh, thank you for listening. We will have a more in-depth episode close to release. This is the juice on the Talking Cards podcast. Good luck in your EQL and your retail chasing everybody. Have a good day.
